Life : A Mexican Getaway

There is so much to tell you about Mexico. Really most of it is how amazing it was to be at the beach. And one cant forget how much all-inclusive hotels rock. Don’t like your drink? No worries, get another one. Don’t like your dinner? Well just get up and go somewhere else. Plus there are people around waiting on you hand and foot. Literally

We arrived in Mexico Sunday afternoon in time for a beach reception the grooms family put on. Think rehearsal dinner. It was a great introduction to everyone and to the resort. The Mariachi band came and played, drinks were served, and a buffet was lined up for our enjoyment.

Both of us were exhausted from traveling – why does it do that to you by the way? Anyways, so we called it a night fairly early.

The morning of the wedding (Monday) we decided to take a spin class and lay at the beach before getting ready.

Yes, the water really was that gorgeous. I kept telling Amanda it was natures ombre. On our way back up to get lunch before getting ready for the wedding we may or may not have stopped and participated in water aerobics…

As you saw on Tuesday, the wedding was gorgeous and the bride looked beyond perfection.

There was cocktail reception of sorts between the wedding and the reception, but more importantly there was a miniature golf course right next to the reception. It beckoned us, I promise.

Since the wedding was on Monday, most everyone was gone by Tuesday afternoon. The rest of our trip consisted of pool//beach//eat//beach//pool//eat with a few excursions to the flea market, massages, and shows.

The public bus costs all of $1 each way, so we jumped on the stop right outside of our hotel and made our way to the flea market, because lord knows I cant miss a flea market.

For those of you curious, yes the bus was perfectly safe as was Cancun. The sellers at the flea market are very invasive and try any way they can to get you in their shop. Once you get the hang of saying “No Thank You” a million times then you are in the clear. We ended up getting a few things and managed to barter back and forth to get a great price. I would suggest hitting up a place like this on your next trip and skipping the mall.

Okay, so maybe its just henna.

All in all it was a fantastic trip. Tomorrow I will show the outtakes – yes there really are MORE pictures.

Amanda – thanks so much for being my most fantastic date and travel partner. The trip wouldn’t have been half as fun without you.
